The artistically acclaimed beauty hailed from Detroit, Michigan, walked away from her troubled family story and walked, via catwalk, round the globe. Despite her almost spastic racial identification, she was considered the black american woman who revolutionized the view of black women in her industry and the fashion world. She died at the age of 33.
